Words have power. And while it's important for people to talk about suicide, it's just as important to choose our words with care.
Journalists, bloggers, students, social media users and communication professionals are invited to a free training at the Snohomish Health District. The class is presented by Rena Fitzgerald, crisis services senior program manager with Volunteers of American, and Wendy Burchill, healthy communities specialist with the Snohomish Health District. The invitation also goes out to anyone who is interested in learning to talk about suicide appropriately and accurately.
The training is scheduled for 1:30 to 3 p.m. on Tuesday, July 23, at the Snohomish Health District. It will be in the first floor auditorium at 3020 Rucker Ave. in Everett.
Please RSVP or direct questions to wburchill@snohd.org.
