Advisory Groups & Coalitions
Involvement
Community involvement and partnerships are essential to public health. Snohomish Health District has regular community and professional groups that advise us on policy and regulations. We also take the lead in facilitating certain community groups. Finally, we participate in a number of boards and commissions related to public health in Snohomish County
Advisory Groups
Community members of the following groups meet regularly to advise Health District staff and ultimately the Board of Health, on matters of public health policy and regulations.
- Food Advisory Committee: restaurant owners and others advise our Food Safety program
- Public Health Advisory Council: appointed by the Board of Health
- Septic Issues Committee: professionals in the field provide input to our Environmental Health division
Groups Facilitated by the Health District
- Child Death Review: in partnership with the Snohomish County Medical Examiner's Office, we meet quarterly to review the cause of death of our county's youngest residents
- Healthy Communities Coalition: we host meetings every other month for city staff and others involved in healthy communities work to network and share information related to environments that promote healthy eating and physical activity
