Respiratory Illness Dashboard - Metric Change

The Snohomish County Respiratory Illness Dashboard is updated to show a combined metric for percent of emergency department visits for acute respiratory Illness. The former dashboard showed three separate metrics for COVID-19, Influenza, and RSV.

The new combined metric has one threshold number that can be used to determine when to implement staff universal masking during non-outbreak times. Implementing staff universal masking during periods of high respiratory illness activity is a recommendation, not a regulatory requirement.

Please reference the Northwest Healthcare Response Network statement for information explaining the change.

Candida auris Transfers

I greatly appreciate all our SNFs who have, will, or are currently providing care to C. auris positive residents!

Communication between facilities when transferring residents with Candida auris can be challenging. If you plan to transfer a Candida auris positive resident to another LTC facility, please reach out to me (Amanda Reilly) so I can help set up the receiving facility for success when caring for the resident.

Reminders

  • Resident influenza hospitalizations and deaths must be reported by a SNF to us at the LHJ. You can report these cases at the REDCap link.
  • At this time, RCS is not adopting WA state's new recommendations for healthcare worker PPE and Return to Work for COVID-19. SNFs must follow CDC Healthcare Guidelines for COVID-19.
