Persons Experiencing Homelessness

Persons experiencing homelessness is one of six priority areas identified in the 2022 Snohomish County Community Health Assessment.

The annual Point-In-Time (PIT) survey by Snohomish County Human Services found there were 1,184 individuals in shelters, transitional housing, or without any shelter on the night of February 21, 2022. That’s the highest PIT count in a decade.

Anywhere from about 1% to nearly 11% of students in grades K-12 in Snohomish County school districts were without stable housing during the 2021-22 school year.

Lack of stable housing impacts early development, physical and mental health, and access to crucial resources such as healthcare.
